Essay Competition 2011

Kia Ora,
Hon Mita Ririnui -Labour MP is calling members of all communities in the Taranaki region to take part in the essay contest promoted by the Association of Former Members of Parliament to increase active voting participation. The subject matter of the essay contest is: How would you increase understanding of participation of young people in our democracy?

Tangi of Lindsay MacLeod-25th March 2011

Kia Ora,
The passing away of Kaumatua, Lindsay MacLeod, brought to three the number of deaths of respected Maori leaders in Taranaki over recent years.
As with Te Miringa Hohaia last year, Bob Richards -Executive member of the Taranaki Multi Ethnic Council attended Lindsay’s tangi at Parihaka on Friday 25th March 2011. As expected the tangi was huge and was a testament to the mana of the man.

Presentation on Socio-Culture Context of Healthcare -WITT

TMEC has received a letter from Dr. Andrea Corbett-WITT who facilitate a course titled “Socio-culture context of health care” to first year nursing students. She is seeking members from nursing community from different countries to give a presentation on Monday 30th May 2011 at 10.30 am.
